When I upload my song to my scores, all the dynamics disappear. And I still have them in the musescore file, but when I upload the score, they are gone.

GIT commit: f51dc11

Comments

Are the dynamics still there if you close the file from within MuseScore and then reopen the file? Please attach the score you are having problems with and provide step by step instructions to reproduce the problem.

Also, unless you are a programmer volunteering to fix a bug, please do not "Assign" an issue to yourself.

The please attach gthe score and steps to reproduce the problem. And again, please don't assign yourself unless you are a programmer and plan to provide a fix.

The Rescue of a Wolf.mscz This is the score in which the dynamics all disappear.
(and if I have assigned this to myself again, I had it set at unassigned, so I don't know what's going on.)
So, I kept inputting dynamics, then I would save my progress, and then close the program, open it, and all the dynamics were gone.

Don't worry about the assignment; that's a glitch that sometimes happens, especially if responses cross somehow.

Thanks for posting the score, but again, we need to see steps to reproduce the problem. When I load your score, I see dynamics in measure 22, 51, and elsewhere. If I add a new dynamic to measure 1, it continues to display when I save and reload the score. And when I look at the score on your page at musescore.com, I see the same. So I am not understanding the problem. Please be as specific as possible in explaining to us how to reproduce the problem.

All I know is that I was writing more of the song, and the dynamics were there, then when I uploaded it to my scores, the dynamics did not show, or play. They were nonexistent. Then, I did what you told me, close the program, and reopen the score, and boom, no dynamics, except for in the piccolo part. I don't know how it happened, it just happened, but there you go. But earlier on, there was a repeat that didn't play back either, so I just took it out. But I don't know exactly what I did wrong. The dynamics were there until I reopened the score, then they were gone.
I know this may not be very helpful, but it's all I know. Uploaded it, no dynamics on the upload. Dynamics still in the musescore file until I reopened the score, then they were gone, and every time I add one, it goes away when I reopen the score again.

OK, I think I can reproduce the problem using your score:

1) open your score
2) click first note of horn part
3) double click "fff" in palette to add that dynamic
4) save
5) close
6) reload

The dynamic is gone.

I think the problem is that you have set the "System" flag in your Dynamics text style. This is intended to make the dynamic appear on the top staff only (and all generated parts), but I think perhaps because of the playback effect, rhis option might not be compatible with dynamics.

Title Dynamics Dynamics not saved for staff other than top if system flag set

Yes, I believe you are right, although I forget the context. I do recall there would be issues if text was already entered on staves other than the top before setting the flag. But I am a little surprised it doens't work even if the flag is set first.

I can reproduce the issue from scratch:

1) new score for two instruments
2) style / text / dynamics
3) set system flag
4) OK
5) add dynamic to bottom staff
6) save
7) close
8) reload

Result: dynamic is missing. Examining the score file, the dynamic was never saved.
