Edited tie hard to select, resets to default on next layout

1) default empty score
2) enter whole note B tied to whole note B
3) double click the tie
4) drag middle handle to stretch tie upwards, to looking something like this:

5) now try to select the tie

Result: you won't succeed by clicking where it currently is (well, except maybe near the endpoints, which haven't changed much). But be patient, keep trying, clicking where the ite used to be, clicking near the endpoints, eventually you'll succeed.

6) enter another note

Result: tie resets itself (loss of data)

Slurs don't seem affected. Well, sometimes they seem a little hard to select also, but not reproducibly.
