Playback audio isn't working
Everything in the audio playback section of the top bar is grayed out. The synthesiser is also disabled, and I've tried everything in the support article about this issue and nothing seems to work. I am on a Windows 10 64-bit computer, running MuseScore version 3.6.2.548021083. The screenshots are what the playback section looks like and what my I/O preferences look like after factory reset.

Reinstalling MuseScore won't help (if you were thinking about that).
MuseScore isn't "seeing" your audio devices. With a score loaded in MuseScore, right click the speaker icon in the lower lift of the Windows desktop taskbar. Open volume Mixer to see if MuseScore is listed.
The thing I know that sometimes happens if nothing else in the FAQ srtle helps is, another application your system may have exclusive use of the audio device. So rebooting then being sure not to start any other audio programs before starting MuseScore might help. Or finding an option in Windows to disallow programs from getting exclusive access. See for instance https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/how-to-disable-exclusive-…
