Dynamics don't work for pizzicato on strings.
Dynamics don't seem to work properly when violins, violas, cellos, and basses are in pizzicato mode. The MuseScore software seems to default to forte when these instruments are being plucked.

Works fine for me. Are you perhaps using a non=standard soundfont? Could be it isn't set up correctly. If you are having trouble using the default soundfont, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.

I am currently using the default soundfont. Here is my score if you'd like to take a look. Piano_Concerto_.mscz. The measures I have issue with is 107-111, where the violins, violas, and cellos are doing tremolos at pianissimo but the contrabass pizzicato is much louder than the rest of the strings despite the pianissimo marking.
If everything seems to be fine on your end, is there anything I can try so I can get the pizzicato dynamics to work properly?

That pizz. in Contrabass does work and does sound like pizzicato. Only very silent, as they are indeed pp
The tremolos are way too loud though, at least it seems to me

All the string instruments doing tremolos are marked pp as well. When I tried having the contrabass play in arco, the volume is reasonable and kind of blends in with the rest of the orchestra, but then in pizz. mode it's too loud and sticks out which I don't want. I closed MuseScore last night, slept, woke up, and logged back on again and still have the same issue with the contrabass pizz.

Did you perhaps change to some non-default settings in View / Synthesizer / Dynamics? Change those all back to the defaults if so.
Anyhow, for me the pp in the contrabass plays as expected. Although I do wonder, normally the strings require "export" sounds since they support single note dynamics (SND). But the pizzicato sound aren't available in that format, because pizzicato doesn't make sense with SND. So I'm actually a little surprised this doesn't cause a problem. Maybe it does but it's random / system-dependent, and that's why it's not working for you when it does for others. But, I would also think we'd hear more reports of this if it were really a problem - this is the first I can recall.

I switched all the dynamic options to default and closed and opened MuseScore again and everything seems to work correctly. Thank you so much for your help!
