"Check for updates" missing in Help menu

Well, I see it there, just like in https://musescore.org/en/handbook/checking-updates#check-for-update

So if you are not seeing it there, please tell us what version of MuseScore you are using, and what language you are using if not US English. You might also try going to Edit / Preferences and updaitng the translation.

Hmm, not present for me either, 2.0.3 AppImage on Ubuntu, just updated my US English translation yesterday. Maybe the documentation is just out of date? Screenshot shows quite a few other discrepancies as well compared to what I see (eg, screenshot shows "Local Handbook" but not "Ask for Help", etc).

It is there in 2.0.3 on Windows:

I recall from a forum discussion that this is deliberately not there on Linux, since distributions commonly don't actually have the update available.

Yes, I now remember that too. What about the other discrepancies, then? Should at also update the screen shot, and add a note about Linux?

Not really as far as I am concerned.

It doesn't harm though, so I'd rather let the picture in.

Maybe we should also switch off the 'Updates' tab in preferences for Linux?
