No matter what I do, but after some time (usually < 1 min.) the app crashes with a nasty core dump.

I've tried to delete the files *.mscz and session in the application folder ~/.local/share/data/MuseScore/MuseScore2 before starting but without any result.

I'm running Arch Linux with Gnome Shell 3.22.1.

Try Help / Revert to Factory Settings. If that doesn't fix it, see if you can up with precise steps to reproduce the problem. Most likely it will turn out to have something to do with the specific score you are working on and/or the actual steps you are following.

I've tried reverting to factory settings and closing the tutorial score. When I open MuseScore I have the "Start center" and no scores loaded. At least now is not crashing after a few seconds and I only had one while in the preferences menu.

I need more time to try for example writing a score and see what happens. For the moment the problem seems related to one specific combination of settings and/or scores opened.

We'll see...

Hi there,

I have seen several similar issues. Here is my experience :
- upgraded the system to ubuntu 16.04
- straight after that, freshly installed Musescore 2.0.3
- application crashed on first startup (and always do when I run it from unity)
- I can start it through the terminal but then it crashes after a few seconds
- I never edited, loaded, saved any score, just opened the tutorial

- using the command "musescore -F" won't make any difference and I also tried to delete the config files manually, which makes no difference

Here is part of the crash report:
SegvAnalysis

When running musescrore -F through the terminal, here is the output:
initScoreFonts 0xb45f408
Erreur de segmentation (core dumped)

(which means "Segmentation fault (core dump) -> system locale is FR)
