Do not require fretboard diagrams to be attached to a note
Although a chord symbol can be placed at any point in a measure, a fretboard diagram can only be placed attached to a note or rest. The workaround to (for instance) enter two quarter notes, attach fretboard diagrams to each, and then replace the first quarter note with a half note works, but is needlessly cumbersome and inconsistent with the way chord symbols work.
Comments
I propose allowing fretboards to be added to chord symbols as at least a partial solution. So enter the chord symbol first - which doesn't require a note - then attach the fretboard to that. Internally, we'd still be adding the fretboard to the "segment", which would by definition already exist, so this should be very easy.
