MUSIC XML import
Hi, I have had a small issue in importing a MusicXML file that was exported from the Audivers OMR tool,
In that it misplaced notes and managed to miss some lyrics entirely.
I've attached both the exported XML and the original scan.
This isn't a major inconvenience as I am quite able to clean up the scan in MuseScore, and re-do the lyrics,
but I'd like to eleiminate the possibility of a glitch in the way Musescore imports MusicXML.
It would be appreciated if someone could confirm if this is a Musescore or Audivers issue.

Looking at the XML file it doesn't appear to be a very faithful representation of the original score so that would be an Audiveris problem.
From what I've seen here so far of Audiveris's output, it's not the best at adhering to the XML standard. Also, the nightly Musescore version complains about some incorrect XML detail in your file, but It loads the file about the same as v1.3 does.
There is no specific MuseScore bug here. I close this bug report.
On IRC this score was referred to: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Our_God_Our_Help_in_Ages_Past_%2…
If you have a computer generated PDF (i.e. from notation software straight to PDF instead of via a bitmap scan) I've found PDFtoMusic very reliable (sometimes more reliable than unproofed manual input).
This is an Audiveris issue: a (quite common) case of Audiveris failing to correctly identify the voices. As a result, some notes are moved to an incorrect beat, chords are broken up and the measure timing gets messed up. A typical example is measure 3 in the bass part, where five notes are assigned to voice 1 and three notes to voice 2, instead of four to each.
The MusicXML file generated by Audiveris is syntactically correct, but describes incorrectly scanned / interpreted music.
No MuseScore issue here.
Thank you for the technical explanation.
