On the MIDI import panel, the filename appears as black text on dark grey which is difficult to read (see attached).

A couple options:

  1. Use light grey text so that it is readable, but avoid white text to indicate that the text input is disabled (not editable)
  2. Remove the filename from the import panel. The filename already appears in two other places: the window title bar and the window tab.

Discussion: Of the two options, I slightly favor the second.

One question: the file name in MIDI panel becomes red when the MIDI file is no more available
(was renamed/moved/deleted somehow) during the import and the "Apply" button becomes grayed.
Without the file name line - how to tell the user why the "Apply" button suddenly becomes disabled?

One option would be to remove the file name but display an error message next to the Apply button (something like "Cannot open original MIDI file") when needed. This would probably be clearer than the file name turning red.

Another option lasconic and trig-ger discussed on IRC would be to eliminate the possibility of an error by storing the MIDI file in memory (or as a temporary file) until the MIDI import panel is closed.

If we keep the file name then the color should change as discussed above. Just check that it works with both the dark theme and the light theme.
