1) new score for two instruments, 4/4
2) Ctrl+drag 12/8 time signature to bar 3 of second instrument
3) enter eighth notes into that measure

Result: after entering five eighths, you see signs of corruption:

It's possible I am not using the feature correctly? Still, this behavior should not occur.

It's better, but still issues.

1) follow the steps given in the original problem report, completely filling the measure with eighth notes

Result: beaming is 9+3 rather than 3+3+3+3 as it should be according to time signature properties

2) now ctrl+drag a 3/4 time signature to measure 6 of that same oboe staff
3) enter eighth notes

Result: corruption of the same form as in the original report, plus the beaming is wrong (1+1+4 instead of 2+2+2)

If you add 3/4 instep of the 12/8 in the first place, there is no corruption, but beaming is wrong (3+3 instead of 2+2+2).
