Scale TAB clef with the number of lines in a staff ?
I got a request to scale the TAB clef according to the number of lines in the staff. For example, make it larger for a 8 string guitar compare to a normal 6 string guitar.
I just wanted to document the request, and see how other are dealing with this. I don't own GP5 or lower. Anyone?
GP7 (desktop version)
Guitar Pro app on iOS 1.7.4, older notation engine I believe
Tab n' staves
Lilypond doesn't even scale down TAB for 4 strings
TuxGuitar has no tab clef. Nothing in "Behind Bars".
For the record, the current behavior in MuseScore is like GP6 on desktop. TAB is not scaled up, only down for 4 string.

If we would change it in MuseScore
In GP6, there was the possibility to create 6, 7 and 8 strings guitar scores. I do not see it with GP5, and I do not see it anymore with GP7
So with GP6 (see image below), the scale of the Tab clef remains the same whether there are 6, 7 or 8 strings.
@cadiz1 any preference for the scaling?
I do not have a real preference. I'm not opposed either, but it's a minor priority for me. Because, primo, I think that, even if it exists, the 7 and 8 strings guitar is not a widespread practice, and because there are surely other more important priorities to deal with first for the 3.0
"Finale" also scales up the Tab sign to fit the height of the staff.
My preference would be to not scale.
1. It just looks prettier to me
2. SMuFL only feature a 4 string and 6 string glyphs. Of course we could scale up, but since we don't scale down for 4 strings, what's the point?
3. It's already coded like this, so no change to do :)
I close this issue. Thanks all for your input.
