Composition with parts.
Edit the title or instrument of the part.
Leave the cursor visible; do not click outside the title block.
Now click on the main composition tab and "export parts".
The pdf for the part will now have the cursor visible.

On windows 10 I cannot keep the cursor visible and have the menu options accessible. When the cursor is visible the options such as Export parts... is grayed out.

What platform are you using?

Yes. That’s why I explicitly said click on the tab of the main composition. Then do “export parts”, meaning score and parts.

I’m using the most recent RC on OSX. Someone on Windows10 confirmed the same behaviour. See the MuseScore support group on Facebook.

I see the same thing now. So here are the procedures:

  1. Create a score with parts
  2. Double click the title in a part
  3. Select the main score tab
  4. Export parts

Result: The cursor is visible in the PDF that contains the part that was being edited.

There is nothing newer than 2.1, nothing officially released. Or were you really still working with 2.1RC?
But 2.2 is knocking on the front door... and development builds for that are available and should be pretty stable (even more stable than 2.1 actually)

Reported version 2.1

This error is not visible in older versions of windows (Win 7). It just prints the infield name but not cursor.
correct me if I am wrong.

Is this still a problem for anyone in 3.0? As far as I can tell it's no longer possible to export parts while in edit mode.
