I want multi measure rests. In attached score, it will not join measure 4 to multi measure rest 1-3.

When I try "join measures" the program crashes. Every time.

The score was imported from midi, also attached.

(I know I can delete measure 4, and then insert a measure before 1-3. That works, but that is not the point here: it is the crash.)

Crashes are bad, but for the record, join measures is not what you want here. It would actually combine two measures into one, so one measure of 16 beats in that example rather than a four measure multimeasure rest.

The reason your rest is being split there is to show the tempo change. This is required, otherwise people reading the wouldn't know to change tempo there. If you don't want to change tempo there, simply remove the tempo marking.

But again, the crash should indeed be fixed anyhow.
