MDL Conversion Tool

As MuseScore's ability to create scores for drumline evolves, older files remain stuck with the old (and more or less unsupported) drumline instruments, as opposed to MDL Bass, Snares, and Tenors. If possible, a tool to convert these older instruments to MDL instruments would be very helpful. I understand that there are key differences between MDL's sfzs and the sf2s used by the base drumline instruments, but there should be a tool to convert, at minimum, snare hits and shots, tenor drum hits, and bass drum hits. I don't know how this would work, nor am I familiar with how MuseScore stores score data, but I assume that writing something to select all C3 notes (Drum 3 on the old tenors) and change them into D4 notes (Drum 3 on MDL tenors) would be relatively simple.
