Can't tie notes
clicking a note, then the tie key, then the note i want to tie it to doesn't work.either selecting the notes forward or in reverse.
Control clicking two notes and selecting the tie key doesn't work
Shift selecting a series of notes and tieing doesn't work

ties only work between notes of the same pitch, between notes of different picth you'd use a slur insread.

And ties are never between multiple notes, so a range selection (click first, shift+click last) would never work. That's also the reason why you'd only select the first note of a tie and not the 2nd.
Whether list-select (click one ctrl+click more) should work or not maybe a bug or a missfeature.
Better to use the Forum for questions like this, the issue tracker is for establisghed bugs.
Neither ties nor slurs were working from the top tool ribbon. If I use the sidebar then everything's fine. I'll just work using that.
Also, didn't realize there was a forum so I will use that in the future.
There's no slur in the top tool bar, and there is no tie in the sidebar palettes, so I'm confused now...

Right. To be clear, ties and slurs are two completely different things, even though look similar. Ties can *only* be added using the toolbar button or equivalent keyboard shortcut ("+"). Slurs can *only* be added using the palette icon or equivalent keyboard shortcut ("S").
If ypu have a situation where notes that you think should be possible to connect with a tie (eg, same pitch, same staff) cannot be, and you are following the instructions from the Handbook, please post the specific score you are having problems with and precise step by step instructions to reproduce the problem.
But I'm guessing you were simply thinking the tie button would work to add a slur, and that's just not the case.
Got it! This was my first time using the program, and I'd already been having crash-on-load issues with a score, so I figured it was a bug. Looks like i just jumped the gun on it.
