unable to create tie in Note Input mode after editing length of note
MuseScore 1.0, Windows Vista; results same in trunk
1. N (enter Note Input mode)
2. 5, F, 6, F (enter quarter note and half note on F
3. Esc (exit Note Input mode, leaving half note on beat 2 selected)
4. 5 (change half note on beat 2 to a quarter note)
5. N (re-enter note input mode; the newly edited quarter note on beat 2 selected)
6. 4, +
Expected result: an eighth note F is added on beat three, tied to the quarter note on beat 2
Actual result: the quarter note on beat two changes to an eighth
I tried moving the cursor forward and backwards after step 5 and before step 6, but nothing would allow me to tie that second quarter to anything as long as I remained in Note Input mode. The only way to tie it is to add the eighth note, then exit Note Input mode, then tie them.
Comments
Just an additional note - step 4 doesn't seem to actually be necessary. That is, it's the act of leaving then re-entering Note Input mode that breaks tie input, not the fact that the note length was edited.
Also, I figure there is a pretty good chance I'm just misunderstanding something about how this is supposed to work.
#28916: '+' key doesn't work to create tied note after leaving and re-entering note entry mode is a better description.
