Obviously, shortcuts should not be taken into account when user inputs text. Should be addressed in 3.0.

If you are having a problem using a version of MuseScore, please ask for help on the support forum instead of following up to this long-closed issue. When you do so, please be sure to give more details - what version of MuseScore, what OS, what keyboard layout, etc.

Yes, sounds like you assigned some custom shortcuts that were not a good idea.
When in doubt try help / revert to factory settings
