Sound Not Playing

The playback for MuseScore seems to be broken-- while it goes through the visual parts of it, such as the bar on the sheet, no sound comes out. I'm using Linux-- everything else has played but MuseScore. I know it isn't my hardware because I swapped out headphones and speakers with the rear and front audio out ports and the problem still persisted. I've tried messing with my sound software as well, to no avail. To make sure it was just MuseScore and not my notes, I tried putting the same music into another program much like MuseScore, and it played fine. Everything is currently at factory settings after multiple restarts of MuseScore and my whole computer. I tried using another sound font-- also didn't work.
