See attached file (staff/tab). When you click on a note, it highlights instantly in 2.0.3. In the nightly, however, there is a discernible delay between clicking-on and seeing the note highlight.

I don't notice anything unusual. How big of a delay are you seeing? Perhaps you have some other process running on your system that is hogging the CPU? In any case, I'm not sure nightly builds are built with the same compile options as release builds, so this might just be the normal result of a debug build versus and optimized one.
My system is as stripped-down as you can get. Nothing remotedly CPU-hogging, not even a internet connection.
We still need more information to know how to reproduce. Have you verified that it is *not* simply a question of a difference in compilation settings resulting in a less optimized executable file? Have you compared, for example, to a 2.0.4 nightly build? Or tried doing a build yourself? How much of a slowdown are we talking about? Right now, for all I can tell, what you are seeing may well be just the normal result of using a debug as opposed to release build.
Closed due to inability to reproduce.
