Is there a way I can utilize "print preview" to preview my score as if it was going to be printed through my printer (like Microsoft Word)? If not, I would like that feature for MuseScore so that I can avoid cutting off the bottom staff while printing my scores.

Could it be that your score dimensions are different from your actual paper size? E.g. you're making your score on A4 and your paper size is US Letter?

First thing I always have my students do upon installing MuseScore is change the page size default in Preferences. I recall discussion of making this default somehow locale-dependent, and there was some reason why it wasn't trivial to do so or why it wouldn't always work, but I'd definitely like to see something along these lines at some point if it isn't already in the trunk.

Marc, the second question from my post in #13697: [trunk] R4991 Default page size dealt with exactly what you are now requesting: "Can there be a way to detect and set the proper page size based on your OS settings? The majority of North America uses Letter for a standard sheet size." Werner cut it off very tersely (and in my mind rudely) in comment #2: "The default of the default is A4 bc, most people on this world use it." I'm glad more people are finally jumping on this one.

I'll close this issue.

@MaestroEvans Feel free to reopen this issue if you think this didn't solve your problem.

PS Let's not get our feelings hurt over a few words. We all come from different cultures with different habits and ways of speaking.

Agreed regarding not worrying about the wording. If there has to be one and only default, I can't argue with a4 as the default. And since the specific issue there was regarding the use of "custom" versus a4 rather than on making it locale dependent, I also see no problem with that issue having been closed. Hence the new one.

Btw, I assume this current issue (the one in which I am posting right now) really is a simple matter of wrong page size, but it would be nice to get confirmation.
