Dear all,
I tried to hide only the first bar of a staff but the result is not good.
What I got is shown in the file "hide_left_mesure_with_mscore1_1.pdf" here attached.
With the version 2.0 (Nightly) I was able to obtain something better, but still not good (see file attached:"hide_left_mesure_MS_Beta2.pdf").
What I'm trying to obtain is showed in the file: "TARGET_hide_left_mesure.pdf"
This feature is important for composers that use contemporary notation.
Thank you for your attention.

Comments

Hi

(I hope I have summarised the issue better, please change if not.)

What operating system and version of MuseScore are you using?

Could you try the latest nightly build?

Please read this .

I dare say that what the OP tries to achieve is not currently supported.

1) The missing bar line is considered by MuseScore the end bar line of the hidden measure, whence it is hidden together with 'its' measure. In principle, it would be possible to 'disengage' that bar line from its measure, but it does not look like a trivial task.

2) Similar comments about the instrument name before the hidden measure and the measure number above it: both belong to the whole system and as such they are not affected by what happens to individual measures. Again another non-trivial change, I'm afraid.

I suggest the issue is re-categorized from "Bug" to "Feature request".
