If you go to Style->Text and then select "Frame" and change the font size, the size of fonts for frame text in vertical and horizontal frames changes appropriates (YAY!!), but the frame text in text frames switches to 10 Pt instead of whatever you selected. I tested this using Windows 7, and will test on Linux later today.

This can be overridden by selecting the text in the frame and changing the font size, which then appears to also override any further changes to font size from the style menu. This also appears to be the behavior for frame text in vertical and horizontal frames.

Also, a couple of comments (please ignore if this is not the appropriate place for such things)
1) It would be very nice if it were possible to clear text formatting in an individual frame and have it revert to the default format for that type of text element. This does not appear to yet be possible.
Edit - if you copy and paste the text into a new frame, then it will use default formatting. Since copy/paste of text now works (also YAY!!) this is quite easy, and perhaps another way to clear the formatting is not needed.

2) The new text frames do not appear to have text wrapping. I know this has been already requested a million times, so this is just to comment that it isn't working in case it's supposed to be. I'm sure the developers are already aware it would be very useful.
3) Thank you SO MUCH for all the work making formatting better! This will make my project with mixed text/music a million times easier to work on! Previously I had exported images from MuseScore into a text editor, but now I should be able to do everything in MuseScore.

Yes. Text added to text frames shows as "Title" style, although it is not actually styled that way. I think that means it has an invalid style id?

Also, as far as I can tell, adding a text frame via the palette doesn't work at all - you get the frame, but there is no way to add text to it. Only the menu works.

Sorry if I misunderstood what you are saying, but to add text to a text frame I had to right-click it and select "edit element". After doing this the text can be edited by just clicking on it. It would definitely be nice if by default left-clicking on an empty text frame allowed you to enter text.

For me, if I add a text frame using the palette, and typing text doesn't add any. If I then right click the frame and select Edit Element, nothing happens - I still can't type text. So I am not talking about editing existing text - i am saying I can't add text to a text frame in the first place, if that frame was added via the palette rather than the menu.
