When using "Navigation Panel", Musescore 2.0.3 runs extremely slowly
When using "Navigation Panel", Musescore 2.3 runs extremely slowly. After a frustrating day of it running slowly, since upgrading to Musescore 2.3 when that update came out, I eventually figured out that it was only when I had Navigator Panel up - as I am used to doing at all times, whenever I am transcribing - that the problem happens. If I am not using Navigator, it runs perfectly. It seems to only be a problem with Musescore 2.3, and not any earlier versions. I, and probably others, am used to working with Navigator Panel visible, especially while working on long scores, and adjusting the finished thing so that there are no half empty pages at the end. I use Musescore almost daily and it's quite a major problem with this release in my opinion, could do with being looked into - thanks!

There is no MuserScore 2.3. I guess you mean 2.0.3.
That MuseScore is slow on large scores, and that the navigation pane addes to the performance problem is known since long, see #23546: Score editing extremely slow
But there should be no difference between 2.0.2 and 2.0.3 in this regard. If you are seeing a difference, please post the specific score and steps to reproduce the problem.
I will vouch that is appears to be my experience too that immediately after upgrading to 2.0.3, I experienced very slow performance until I turned off the navigator. Previously I had not noticed this even with scores that are much larger than the ones I am currently using. Yes, there may be other factors, but the timing and the upgrade being the one change in the software itself prior to this slowdown would seem to indicate SOMETHING changed to cause an issue. It seems, with only a few tests so far, that just turning the navigator off then on again removes the problem even after restarting (at least for the short duration of time I tried experimenting to see if it solved the problem). It's as if there is something building up in cache until that element is toggled off and on.
Musescore 2.1. (on Windows 10) extremely slow even without "navigation panel" (especially in the case of score with lyrics): what can I do? Thanks in advance

Thank You, Jojo-Schmitz, I read all about this topic, but I can't find any solution... As for the former versions (2.0.3 etc), I found it useful to cut away the Navigation panel, adding lyrics on separate files as well (as for vocal scores) etc... But now, with 2.1 (on Win 10, without any known "memory issue" on my laptop - 64 bit, intel core 2.50 GHz), editing is very much slow either case... Please, would you help me?
Try using MuseScore with the internet or wifi turned off and see if it helps.
Please attach the score you are having trouble with. Could be it is just too big, could be it contains a particular type of corruption that causes slowdown, could be something else.
I'm having trouble with all kind of scores actually, regardless of the length or the template... Note that I use my own loaded "style", with almost all text fonts changed. Anyway, It's way better to work with support/alternative scores (without any changed font, or lyrics or even "breaks" etc.) and then paste the edited music in the original one; nonetheless, I hope in some pratical remedies here to come...
Thanks mike320: I'll give it a try...
Again, in order to do more than guess, we need you to provide a sample score so we can see if the problem is that or something else on your system.
In any case, better to ask for help on the Support forum rather than resurrect an older closed issue.
Thank You, Marc Sabatella. Here's the last, simple score I was working on... Thank You for your "forum" advice too...
P.S. Another one, same issue (the "note input" time is unbearable); always the same with every "edited" score...
I don't notice any special slowdown on these scores, so it might be some other process on your system interfering. Again, best to ask for help on the Support forum.
Musescore is the only app with this kind of slowdown on my computer...
That could be because it is the only program competing for the specific resource that is the look limiting issue on your system. Hard to say for sure.
Again, to get help figuring out what might be going in Ruth your system to cause the slowdown, better to ask in the Support forum, where people able to help will see it.
Ok, Marc, thank you very much indeed; I'll try the Support Forum :)
