#280478: Color not available as a text style setting for lyrics more accurately described the situation. There are style settings for the foreground and background colors of the frame, but not for the color of the text itself. You can change the color of the text element, but you cannot set that as the style.
That said, I think it would make sense for there to be a style setting for the color of the text element. This would benefit all types of text, not just lyrics. And the colors for odd and even verses could then of course be set independently.

It was perfectly possibly on previous versions ... I used to do it all the time ... and still need that function ... don't know why it was eliminated ...
This is marked as a critical bug, which means it needs to be fixed soon.
It has been a ongoing and long-standing bug ... However, one of the other replies has shown a way around it ... and while still not ideal it is still better than having to do each individual little element ...
And regardless, I realized that this is actually a free program and one I would not have access to if I had to purchase it ...
But I do wish to would fix the BUG!

Your definition of "long-standing bug" doesn't match mine ;-) it got reported only a month ago
This latest issue is new (since the update) and not one I had a problem with prior to this update ... however, they have had ongoing issues with using the colour palettes for a number of years ... that's all I meant ...
However, whatever this issue is, I do fix it would be fixed ... but I am still very grateful for being able to use this program for free ... And I guess, I will work around the colour issues as best I can ... Thank you for your response !
